Children need to visit Planet Kids - Muizenburg - Cape Town

We prefer to leave things up to the imagination, but to wet the palate…
  • Jumping castles complete with climbing walls and aliens
  • Area for the Astronautees (under 3s)
  • Work room for workshops and parent meetings
  • Intergalactic ball wall
  • Fun ramps with a space slide
  • Spacecabs and spaceboards
  • Outside area with a Fuffy Slide and Dream Swing
  • Indoor and outdoor seating

Parents/guardians

We encourage parents/guardians to stay and either join in or watch their little ones play. Refreshments can be ordered from our Flying Saucer Cafe and we have a large range of magazines to browse through. However should you need time off: we offer a drop off facility. Please arrange with us (limited availability).

Health & safety

We try to stock the healthiest options in terms of drinks, crisps and sweets. Safety is also incredibly important to us. We do not want to restrict play, but have strong and safe play equipment. The ramp walls are netted and the jumping castles enclosed.

EnvironmentA

The walls and woodwork are painted with non-harmful paint products from EnviroTouch, all our wooden structures are CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) free and we recycle all of our used tins, bottles,  boxes and Polystyrene (for this we accept drop offs from the public as well ).

Inclusive Play

Planet Kids welcomes kids of all abilities. Through play, we hope to narrow the gap that exists between children of differing abilities and needs. We are offering the opportunity to meet and play for all children, including children with disabilities. Read more about this concept HERE

Ultimate fun at Grand West - Ice Skating

The best way to learn to skate is generally to join one of our development clubs that operate from The Ice Station. And of course, to skate as often as possible - practice makes perfect. Once you've mastered the basics of skating it is an easy transition to a future of ice hockey or figure skating with our resident professional Coaches.
The Ice Station is host to the Western Province Ice Hockey Association.  The WPIHA has five member clubs and always welcome new beginners.  Find out more here.
We have various figure skating clubs operating from The Ice Station. These clubs are all affiliated to the South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) and form a starting point for the sport of figure skating, ice dance, and synchronized ice skating. For further insight into the structure of the sport follow the SAFSA link.

Follow the links in the top menu to find the club that suits you where you can learn to skate correctly or choose one of our professional coaches for further advancement.

Many of our skaters have successfully represented our country at international competitions of various levels. So if you have a dream of achieving your national colours in a dynamic sport then this is where it all starts.
